  SANSEI SHOWA CO., LTD.  ACQUIRES RIGHTS TO TRANSAT CORP. PRODUCTS

  Solon, Ohio December 17, 2002 - Sansei Denshi Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan) and Showa Shinku Co., Ltd. (Kanagawa, Japan) purchased the assets of Transat Corp. A new Ohio limited liability company, Sansei Showa Co., Ltd., was formed December 4, 2002. Sansei Showa will continue to produce and support Transat products. Transat was a leader in the quartz crystal production equipment industry for 30 years. The direct alliance of Sansei Showa with Sansei Denshi, an industry leader in factory automation and Showa Shinku, an industry leader in vacuum system technology, will produce a strong player in the crystal industry. Sansei Showa will be key to all three companies being successful in the ever-changing quartz crystal industry.
